Google’s Mobile-First Index Explained

By the end of 2017 or beginning of 2018, Google plans to separate its desktop and mobile indexes. Currently, desktop and mobile devices share a ranking index; what helps a site rank well on one device also helps it rank on another. This will no longer be the case once Google splits the two.
