Geonetric is one of only 33 companies recognized globally by WorldBlu for building a democratic workplace culture employees love.
Cedar Rapids, IA – May 14, 2019 – For the fifth time in company history, Geonetric has been certified as a Freedom-Centered Workplace by WorldBlu, a global organization committed to promoting freedom and democracy in the workplace. In its 20th year of operation, Geonetric, a digital agency and software developer for the healthcare industry, is continuously recognized for its exceptional work culture through local, regional, national, and global awards.
“At Geonetric, we’ve built a workplace culture that empowers employees to make decisions and promotes their well-being at every opportunity. Our efforts go well beyond perks and instead we focus on ensuring employees feel valued, are trusted to make decisions, and are relentlessly focused on delivering value to our clients,” says Linda Barnes, CEO of Geonetric. “I am honored to see Geonetric be named a WorldBlu Freedom-Centered Culture for the fifth time and am proud of the place we hold in creating employee-focused work environments.”
Thirty-three organizations from around the world were named this year, up from 20 in 2018. All told, nearly 200 companies across industries have received the award, which certifies them as sustainable democratic workplaces against WorldBlu’s 10 Principles of Organizational Democracy such as transparency and accountability.
“Employees want workplace cultures where they have freedom with accountability rather than an environment of fear and control,” notes WorldBlu Founder and CEO Traci Fenton. “These organizations are delivering a freedom-centered culture people love and deserve to be recognized for it.”
WorldBlu’s research shows that 75 percent of workplace culture is shaped by an organization’s systems and processes. Using its rigorous Freedom at Work Scorecard, WorldBlu identified organizations with 10 or more employees and $1 million or more in revenue whose systems and processes are substantially democratic, rather than rigidly hierarchical.
Founded in 1997, WorldBlu is a global academy and community of organizations committed to freedom and democracy in the workplace.
