Flexible, Innovative Design

With a new brand goal in hand, the Stamford Health digital marketing team paired with Geonetric to build a flexible, innovative design that reflects its multi-arm structure and superior level of care. An entity navigation at the very top of the page allows users to easily navigate between Stamford Health, Stamford Health Medical Group and the Stamford Hospital Foundation. On the Stamford Health homepage, a large rotating banner, quick access to signature services, as well as recent blog posts, news and upcoming events are all a click away.

Stamford Health physician profiles drive engagement

Physician Profiles. Reimagined.

To align with the new brand and tagline – Healing. Reimagined. – Stamford Health created a more personal experience in its physician profiles, featuring large images, expanded biographies and location details. Some even include videos, allowing its web visitors to “meet” his or her doctor online. Many profiles also include a link to book an appointment online through an integration with ZocDoc.

Search engine strategy drives success

Strategizing SEO for Success

To prepare for successful website indexing on search engines, Stamford Health worked with Geonetric to strategize the necessary redirect URLs from the former domain to the new brand domain. The strategy cleaned up a long list of redirects, making a clearer, easier path for search engines and users to get to the newly-published URLs. Geonetric also helped Stamford Health reorganize its Google Analytic accounts, creating different channels, allowing the Stamford marketing team to easily filter and see what they need with ease.

The Results

In the first five months, Stamford Health has seen impressive results.

  • More than doubled traffic to its provider profiles. Not only that, but visitors are spending more time studying the available providers with lower bounce rates.
  • Organic traffic to providers has increased by 70 percent, with the provider profiles structure and canonical URLs boosting search rankings.
  • Doubled traffic to location pages, with users reviewing 60 percent more pages and spending more time digging into their location of choice.
  • Services pages attracted more sessions, more pages per session, longer session duration and lower bounce rate among its users, indicating increased engagement.

Stamford Health Reimagines its Brand and Digital Footprint

Located in Stamford, Conn., Stamford Health had a bold objective: Merge four individual sites – its hospital, foundation, medical group and urgent care center – under one digital umbrella. It was also time to create an intuitive user experience by streamlining tasks and functionality, shining a spotlight on physician profiles and getting recognized by search engines.

Stamford Health is an affiliate of the New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System and a major teaching affiliate of the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. Stamford Hospital is a 305-bed, not-for-profit hospital providing area residents (Fairfield and Westchester counties) with access to the latest technology using a compassionate, patient-centered care approach. Areas of expertise include: cancer care, heart services, orthopedics and women's health.
