The Work
Removing redundancies
We conducted an audit of Milford’s employee directory and intranet content to remove redundant or outdated information and revise the governance to make information easier to find.
Meeting the team
Our team also surveyed and interviewed internal stakeholders to understand employees’ pain points, content management needs and ideal intranet features.
Searches made simple
Our first step on Milford’s intranet redesign journey was updating the most-used tools on the website — the staff directory and search function — to create an effortlessly searchable intranet that made it easy for administrators to distribute critical information.
Leveraging analytics
With the help of Google Analytics and stakeholder input, we reorganized Milford’s intranet content to make it easier to manage and implemented a document tracker, which helps admins keep tabs on what pages employees are using.
A helpful hierarchy
Milford’s previous intranet consisted of a non-hierarchal list of links that was overwhelming to use, so we created a primary navigation that organizes content by department and makes it easy for users to find exactly what they need.
