Microsite Provides Calming Home Base for Families Seeking Mental Health Services

Montage Health, a Monterey, CA-based non-profit health system, celebrated the grand opening of its first-of-its-kind adolescent mental and behavioral health campus in late 2023.
Montage partnered with our team to design and launch a microsite that would be ready for digital visitors in time for the physical facility to open its doors.

The Work
Planning the site
To begin the microsite development process, we met with Montage stakeholders for discussions on the Ohana brand, content, and an overarching style direction for the microsite.
Family focus
The name Ohana, the Hawaiian word for family, was chosen by Montage leadership to express how everyone who entered the facility is considered family and how the Ohana model focuses on caring for a patient and their entire family.
Reassuring visuals
Our design team developed a landing page full of images of children and families, bright colors, simple navigation, and custom illustrations of trees and roots to mirror the campus’ architectural elements.
Intuitive navigation
Visitors to the Ohana site may not have the time or willingness to scroll through pages of information to find what they need, so we made sure the page was filled with easy-to-read calls-to-action, along with a bright banner and gold highlighted section providing resources for mental health emergencies.
Reinforcing trust
The Ohana microsite includes a custom footer for the campus’ contact information that sits directly about the standard Montage Health footer, reminding visitors that Ohana is part of the larger Montage system and providing brand equity and trust.
