During a discovery session, Geonetric set out to understand what challenges Benefis wanted to solve with its new website. Partnering with Benefis’ marketing stakeholders, Geonetric learned about their technical needs and broad organizational objectives.
Benefis was converting to a new patient portal, EPIC/My Chart, and needed a new website structure to effectively integrate and showcase the EPIC functionality. The coinciding launches required massive project coordination between Geonetric and Benefis.

Improved site navigation
Using Benefis’ input and goals, we strategized a clear, intuitive navigational structure to meet patient needs, interests and top tasks on desktop and mobile. The improved site navigation with user-focused labels helps patients find what they’re looking for quickly and easily.
Branded, welcoming site design
Geonetric’s new website design for Benefis focused on creating a seamless user experience with a clean, modern design. Geonetric’s designer pulled in organic shapes such as the “Benefis bend” and softer edges of their brand to create an approachable, friendly feeling within the website. The custom Montana landscape illustrations from Benefis communities complement these branded elements.
Visible patient portal button
Creating a new homepage strategy and design was necessary to balance organizational goals and prioritize users’ needs. Geonetric implemented a prominent call-to-action (CTA) button on the main navigation of the homepage to direct users to the new patient portal. This button shows on every website page, making it easy for users to get to no matter which page they’re on.
Quick access to top services & market locations
Geonetric developed a contemporary dropdown navigation system for Benefis’ new website to enhance user experience and streamline access to vital medical services and location expansions into new markets. The new navigation allows users to find and access medical services and locations quickly without the hassle of multiple navigation layers.
Valuable CMS training & support
With Geonetric’s guidance, Benefis gained the skills and knowledge to efficiently maintain its website, ensuring its digital presence remains up-to-date and engaging. To ensure a smooth transition to VitalSite, Geonetric conducted training sessions for the Benefis team. The training focused on using the content management system, empowering the Benefis marketing team to manage website maintenance tasks and update content independently.
