Geonetric and Genesis Health System Launch Next Generation Site
Cedar Rapids, Iowa (July 9, 2009) - At a time when more and more patients are demanding the ability to interact online with hospitals, Genesis Health System (Genesis), headquartered in Davenport, Iowa, is raising the bar on online personalized health experiences.
Genesis and online solutions provider Geonetric once again take Genesis's website to the next level, this time with the launch of "My Genesis," an interactive patient portal that helps build long-term relationships between providers and patients.
"Our new, expanded site will help patients take a more active role in managing their healthcare," says Ken Croken, vice president of corporate communications and marketing at Genesis. "Geonetric has been instrumental in helping us build an innovative, comprehensive patient portal that will impact the lives of our patients and potential patients in a very positive way."
With a focus on personalizing the eHealth experience, "My Genesis" allows site visitors to securely log into the portal application and create a personal account - providing easy access to personalized information and expanded tools that simplify and customize the online experience.
Croken says the site extends care for patients beyond the traditional facilities.

That's why we're proud to unveil our new site and offer our community the ability to better manage their healthcare whenever and wherever it's convenient."
With the introduction of "My Genesis," site visitors can create forms, save and return to them later, and submit them - for themselves and for members of their family. These features reflect the reality of busy schedules and are designed to accommodate caring for family members.
Visitors to the site can send and receive messages over a secure connection designed to safeguard private information They can also elect to receive e-newsletters customized to health topics of interest to them through an integration with Private Health News.

In addition to the portal, Genesis's new site makes the online healthcare experience even more convenient for users by allowing them to search for a doctor and find directions using an integrated Google map, send gifts to patients via the online gift shop, pay bills online, and make online donations.
To announce the launch of their new site, Genesis and Geonetric worked together to design and implement a comprehensive social media campaign involving Twitter and Facebook.
