Meet Us
We're just one, big family. That actually likes each other.
Smart. Creative. Results-driven. These are the things the staff at Geonetric has in common — that and our love of casual dress codes. We’ve assembled some of the brightest minds in technology, marketing and healthcare, and together we’re helping hospitals connect with patients and communities in new ways. We’re all experts at what we do — coding, designing, writing, strategizing, pay-per-clicking. And to be able to use our talents to help our clients meet their goals? Icing on the cake.
Executive Team
Although we’re kind of anti-corporate-org chart around here, we do think the people at the top are there for a reason. We’d follow these guys anywhere. Except on family vacations. That’s just weird.
Eric Engelmann, President & CEO
Eric gets people excited. About healthcare. About technology. About Geonetric. A healthcare reform junkie, he can usually be found uncovering new ways to show healthcare executives how to leverage technology investments and develop patient portals that will improve care delivery. After earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Iowa, Eric began his career in technology, founding Geonetric and never looking back. Through his leadership, Geonetric continuously receives honors and recognitions, including being named a Best Place to Work by Modern Healthcare, Software Company of the Year by the Technology Association of Iowa, and an Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Company for six years running. When he’s not sharing his vision for the future of healthcare or accepting awards on behalf of his company, he can be found having lunch with his daughter at a local elementary school or donning lederhosen and entertaining his staff at the Annual Engelmann Oktoberfest.
Ben Dillon, Vice President & eHealth Evangelist
It’s not just Ben’s sultry radio-voice that makes him the perfect person to be Geonetric’s eHealth Evangelist, although we do believe that increases attendance to our webinars. It’s the fact that Ben’s a thought leader. He follows healthcare technology trends like other people follow sports teams. He’s constantly researching and analyzing everything from social media strategies to accountable care organizations and determining what it all means to Geonetric, our clients and the industry as a whole. This sought-after speaker and current SHSMD board member wasn’t always in the spotlight, previously working in business process re-engineering and software development with University of Iowa Healthcare and the Michigan Insurance Bureau. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in eBusiness and strategic management from the University of Iowa. If you saw this man’s calendar, you’d be very surprised to learn that in between all his trade rag interviews and speaking engagement prep he still finds time to feed his Twitter addiction and play in The Big House with the University of Michigan Alumni marching band.
Linda Barnes, Vice President of Business Development
Don’t let Linda’s green belt in Lean Six Sigma or master’s degree in marketing and finance from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management intimidate you. This driven marketing executive brings her high standards for quality to every marketing campaign and branding initiative she manages. But she’s also a people person and values creativity. It’s this unique combination that makes her the perfect person to manage Geonetric’s business development efforts, pushing her team to find new ways to tell Geonetric’s story while still remaining focused on results. With more than 20 years of experience in marketing, communications, sales, strategic planning, and project management, Linda knows a thing or two about developing and executing integrated marketing strategies. Between traveling the country sharing Geonetric’s vision and approving marketing campaign ideas, Linda can be found assembling care packages for her two away-at-college sons and finding new and inventive ways to remodel their old rooms. Tea in the sitting room, anyone?
Chris Hartman, Vice President of Finance
Chris is a born numbers guy with a solid understanding of how to successfully manage a fast-growing company. After a successful stint in public accounting, he traded in the long hours of an auditor and joined the private sector, holding leadership positions in the insurance software and ground transportation industries. At Geonetric, Chris’ experience and insight play a critical role in our financial activities, and he uses his financial savvy to manage our accounting, business planning, reporting, forecasting and other day-to-day operations. Chris received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and he’s not only an expert at budgeting, he’s also the fastest 10-key in the office. A man of routine, this father of two can be found chewing gum for at least eight hours a day and has somehow managed to keep the same mechanical pencil for more than 15 years.
