Three Nonprofits to Receive New Websites During Geonetric’s Operation Overnight Charity Event

Cedar Rapids, IOWA, July 31, 2019 – Geonetric is excited to announce three nonprofits have been selected for the eighth annual Operation Overnight. The three local nonprofit organizations that will receive a new website during the 2019 event are: The Arc of East Central Iowa, N-Compass, Inc. (Iowa Project AWARE), and The Arc of Southeast Iowa.

The nonprofit organizations were selected from a pool of applications. Qualified nonprofits must be a 501(c)(3) organization based in Linn County or, for the first time in the event’s history, Johnson County, Iowa. Applicants were asked to share how a new website and/or digital marketing services would help them accomplish their missions in the community.

Geonetric, a Cedar-Rapids based digital agency that builds websites and provides marketing services for healthcare clients, launched Operation Overnight in 2012. During this event, Geonetric developers, designers, writers, and strategists set aside two days to deliver websites and digital marketing services to local nonprofits free of charge.

To date, Operation Overnight has built and launched websites for 33 area nonprofits. The eighth annual Operation Overnight will begin on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 8 a.m. The new websites will be unveiled during a reveal party at noon on October 18, 2019 in Geonetric’s café.

About the 2019 Operation Overnight Recipients:

The Arc of East Central Iowa

The Arc of East Central Iowa empowers people with intellectual and related disabilities to engage in lifelong opportunities to live, learn, work and play with dignity, freedom and full inclusion in their communities.

“The Arc of East Central Iowa is extremely grateful to be chosen by Geonetric for Operation Overnight.  We are excited to work together to bring a fresh look to our website and one that will enable our visitors to easily learn what it is we do, the resources we provide, and how others can share in our mission.  A website is no longer nice to have, but a critical communication tool. By partnering with Geonetric we look forward to learning how we can enhance the way we share who we are and what we do.” — Kyle Schramp, Senior Director of Operations

N-Compass, In (Iowa Project AWARE)

N-Compass, Inc. is an all-volunteer team of highly-skilled passionate, and dedicated biologists, geologists, limnologists, geographers, and environmental educators. Their mission is simple, to protect and improve the environment and natural resources through environmental education and community involvement. They work to achieve their mission by coordinating Iowa Project AWARE, which is an annual river cleanup, outdoor recreation and environmental education event. By engaging Iowans in cleaning up their rivers, N-Compass provides hands-on, real-time opportunities for Iowans to learn more about the river’s water quality, biology, geology, and cultural history.

“This massive overnight effort will help sustain and grow one of the best volunteer river cleanup projects in the country. In addition to serving volunteers who spend their vacations muscling trash from Iowa’s rivers, a new website from Operation Overnight offers an incredible opportunity for Iowa Project AWARE to increase the awareness it seeks to bring to Iowa’s rivers.” — Brian Soenen, Iowa Project AWARE Coordinator

“As an all-volunteer organization coordinating an all-volunteer statewide river cleanup event, Iowa Project AWARE is honored and excited to have been selected for Geonetric’s Operation Overnight. With Geonetric’s talents, experience and creativity in designing websites and digital marketing services, we look forward to more effectively engaging Iowans in our mission of cleaning one stretch of river, one piece of trash at a time.” — Lynette Seigley, Iowa Project AWARE Assistant Coordinator

The Arc of Southeast Iowa

The Arc of Southeast Iowa is committed to being a leader in offering information, services and advocacy to individuals with developmental disabilities, their families and community; to promote informed choices and the realization of their goals relating to where and how they live, learn, work and play. Their unofficial motto is “Find a Way!”

“We are so excited for this opportunity! As an agency that strives to be a leader in offering advocacy, information and services to individuals with disabilities, their families and our community, it is important for us to have an accessible online presence. We look forward to greater awareness and improving our ability to serve our community. THANK YOU Geonetric!” — Chelsey Markle, Executive Director
