Create a Mobile Site

Geonetric Clients Connect with Growing Mobile Audience

You see it everywhere, everyday — people are using their mobile devices to check email, shop and access health information. With the growing sophistication and popularity of mobile devices, you need a site that effectively represents your hospital even on the smallest of screens.

You have two choices on how to provide online content to this growing mobile market. The more traditional route is to create a separate mobile site for your organization. This approach allows you to customize the experience, offering focused content, easy navigation and fast access to information.

But there’s a new approach emerging, one that allows you to build and maintain one site, yet present an optimal user experience for every device. It’s called responsive design and it allows your website to respond automatically. It works equally well on desktops, smartphones and tablets.

No matter which direction you choose to take your mobile presence, Geonetric can help. Our software easily creates mobile templates or can be adapted to be entirely responsive. Check out these two case studies to learn more about these two approaches to mobile.

Altru Health System — Grand Forks, ND

Altru Health System mobileAltru Health System recently redesigned their website with the goal of being able to present the best experience possible to all site visitors — regardless of how they accessed the site. The health system has seen a steady increase in mobile traffic over the last year, and knew they wanted to build a mobile Web presence to accommodate this growing target audience. That’s why the team decided to work with Geonetric to create a responsive website instead of a building a separate mobile site.

A responsive site allows Altru’s growing mobile market to access the entire site instead of a limited set of content and functionality. All the content on the site is presented responsively, including provider, location and service directories, calendar and events, clinical trials, gift shop, baby photos, cheer cards and wellness tools. Altru was one of the first health systems in the country to launch a responsive website.

UnityPoint Health - Methodist Mobile SiteUnityPoint Health - Methodist — Peoria, IL

When UnityPoint Health - Methodist decided to create a mobile presence, they wanted to showcase certain content and functionality. That’s why the medical center worked with Geonetric to develop a mobile site that offers access to emergency room wait times, a physician and location search, calendar and events, and links to employment opportunities.

UnityPoint Health - Methodist also understands employees are another important audience that uses mobile devices to check the site. That’s why the medical center offers a ‘for employees’ tab on their mobile site, which connects employees with important links, including email access and employee physician network, information on the work/life counseling program and child care hours.
