Geonetric Wins "Health IT Innovation of the Year" Award
The Technology Association of Iowa recognizes Geonetric's impressive efforts for building technology that improves the delivery, quality and cost of healthcare.
Cedar Rapids, IA - April 7, 2010 - Hundreds gathered last night to recognize the best of Iowa's technology industry at
the Technology Association of Iowa's (TAI) Prometheus Awards gala. Geonetric, an online solutions provider for the healthcare industry, is a familiar name at the annual event and continued its winning streak by being honored with the "Health IT Innovation of the Year" award.
"It is an honor to be recognized by TAI for our innovations in patient portal technology," says Eric Engelmann, President and CEO of Geonetric. "The fact is, no one is talking about changing healthcare the way we are or using the same technology to do so - and it's resonating in the industry."
The event, now in its fifth year, recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of high-tech businesses and individuals across the state. The Health IT Innovation of the Year was a new category for 2010, and to apply Geonetric had to demonstrate that it is building IT solutions that improve the delivery, quality and cost of healthcare within a clinical setting (hospital, physician office or long term care) or at the patient's home.
The awards were presented at an evening ceremony at the Meadows Convention Center in Altoona, IA. The event was co-sponsored by LWBJ Financial with additional support from Applied Art and Technology, the Entrepreneurial Development Center, Iowa Telecom, and McKee, Voorhees & Sease, PLC.
