Geonetric Clients Embrace Mobile Technology to Connect with Health Consumers
Geonetric's clients create mobile templates and provide patients on the go with easy access to vital information.
Cedar Rapids, IA - April 27, 2010 - Geonetric, an online solutions provider for the healthcare industry, announces Southern Regional Health System, Methodist Medical Center of Illinois, and Genesis Health System, as the latest clients to unveil mobile versions of their corporate websites. A
ll the mobile sites deliver focused content, easy navigation and fast access to information.
Geonetric helped each client create a mobile site that offers contact information, lets visitors download and navigate "about us" sections and allows visitors to easily search and retrieve information on doctors and locations. Certain sites allow users to access Google maps, and others offer mobile versions of the wait time feature and symptom checker.
There's no question mobile device use is on the rise. In April 2009, Nielsen Mobile reported 59 million U.S. mobile Web users, and in February 2009, Manhattan Research reported more than 10 million U.S. adults use mobile devices specifically for health information.
"To keep up with increasingly mobile health consumers, it's essential for hospitals and health systems to develop a strategy to take their online presence mobile," says Eric Engelmann, president and CEO of Geonetric. "Geonetric works with clients to connect with patients online and differentiate themselves against competitors. Helping our clients implement and execute mobile sites ensures they reach more consumers and positions them as technological leaders in their markets."
Each of the mobile and corporate sites were built on Geonetric's flexible VitalSite software, which easily creates mobile templates. Instead of requiring mobile users to type in a special URL, Geonetric's software platform recognizes if a visitor is coming from a mobile device and displays the correct templates and browser automatically.
