Geonetric News Release

Geonetric and Adventist HealthCare Launch New Patient Portal

Patient portal positions Adventist HealthCare to offer deeper online patient experience

Cedar Rapids, IA - December 1, 2009 -Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Md., not only delivers high quality care to expectant moms and their babies, they now offer these patients the convenience of automatic form pre-fill for the online pre-registration process. This feature allows soon-to-be patients to have portions of the pre-registration form auto-filled as well as the option to securely save the form at any point and return to finish.

Adventist Healthcare - Rockville, MDThese are just some of the new features Adventist HealthCare's "myHealthCare Manager" portal offers patients of the Maryland-based health system. Designed in partnership with Geonetric, an online solutions provider for the healthcare industry, the latest version of the patient portal demonstrates the health system's commitment to using technology to better communicate with patients.

"We are excited about the opportunities Geonetric's VitalSite platform allows our health system," says Rick Rinaudot, eBusiness director of Adventist HealthCare. "Adventist HealthCare is in an excellent position to take advantage of new features that are being released and to continue to use technology to support and drive our key service lines as well as communicate in a meaningful way with patients about their care."

Adventist HealthCare is a long-standing portal user and understands the value portals provide. The health system began working with Geonetric three years ago, implementing an early version of the patient portal.

The current portal is designed to accommodate patients of Adventist HealthCare's multiple facilities, including Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and Washington Adventist Hospital. Geonetric's portal offers the back-end security to meet the diverse needs of health system's with multiple facilities, controlling which facilities can access what information and providing a documented workflow.

With the portal there are two key audiences, the patient and the administrator. With Geonetric's VitalSite patient portal, both audiences' needs are focused on. For the patient, the online form is designed to be easy to fill out and flow in a logical format. For the administrator, the form fields are designed to match the registration system for easy data comparison and import.

In the coming months, Adventist HealthCare will be focusing on building on the portal platform with online donations and online bill payment features.
