Geonetric Named Best Place to Work in the Healthcare Industry for Second Consecutive Year

Industry-leading publication Modern Healthcare lists Geonetric as one of the top 100 best places to work in the healthcare industry and one of only 34 organizations to be honored for a second time

Cedar Rapids, IA - September 9, 2009 - Adding to an already impressive list of awards as one of the best places to work, Geonetric, a leading provider of eHealth solutions for hospitals and health systems, was recently recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the top 100 places to work in the healthcare industry.

Companies can implement new perks to make a list once, but to continually be acknowledged as a best place to work both nationally and regionally illustrates the efforts our company puts forth every day," says Eric Engelmann, president and CEO of Geonetric. To participate, Geonetric completed an employer questionnaire that detailed the company's policies and benefits. Geonetric's 63 employees were then asked to participate in a comprehensive survey that requested feedback on the company's leadership and planning, work environment, pay and benefits, and training and development.

In its 2008 inaugural list of the 100 best places to work in healthcare, Modern Healthcare named Geonetric in the top ten of all nominees. The rankings for the 2009 list of recipients will be revealed in a special supplement to be published on Oct. 26. This year's recipients also will be honored at a banquet in Chicago on Oct. 27.

This recognition is just the latest for Geonetric. The company has also won a regional award for best place to work, as well as numerous awards for growth, including being named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies for three consecutive years.

Geonetric is one of only a handful of organizations on the list that is not a hospital or health system. The company was included because its product, VitalSite, is a healthcare-specific software application that allows hospitals to offer consumers unparalleled access to doctors and personal health information via their Web sites and Patient Portals, and offers the potential to improve patient outcomes.

To determine these top 100 workplaces, Modern Healthcare entered into a partnership with the Best Companies Group, a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.-based firm that conducts regional "best places to work" programs across the country.

On behalf of Modern Healthcare, the Best Companies Group conducted two surveys of healthcare companies that volunteered to participate in the program. The first survey was a questionnaire for a participating employer. The second was a satisfaction survey of a participating employer's employees. More than 317 healthcare companies participated.
