Geonetric Launches New Web Presence for Southern Regional Health System
Cedar Rapids, Iowa (June 24, 2009) - Southern Regional Health System (SRHS), headquartered in Riverdale, Ga., has unveiled its new website. The site, developed by Geonetric, an online solutions provider for the healthcare industry, reinforces SRHS' new brand and is helping the health system become a leader in the Atlanta area for health information and services.
Through effective use of patient stories and multi-media, the new site illustrates the personal touch SRHS offers patients. It also supports SRHS' transparency initiatives and allows health consumers to make educated decisions by displaying the health system's quality reports for a number of service areas.
Focusing on patient needs, SRHS developed online service centers for their signature lines. Each center provides in-depth information on the specific condition, lists available tests and treatments, showcases physicians and areas of excellence, shares patient stories, and provides online patient information and health libraries.
"Our health system's new site reflects the changing perception of SRHS in our marketplace," says William T. Applegate, managing director for marketing and public relations at SRHS. "From demonstrating our personal service, to illustrating our transparency initiatives, to effective use of Web 2.0, our new online presence is sophisticated and differentiates us from our competitors."
"Geonetric's expertise in the healthcare market, gained from their decade of work with hospitals and health systems, provided an effective framework for our project," continues Applegate. "Their process to move us from point A to B was finely-tuned."
The site was built on Geonetric's award winning software, VitalSite® and at launch will feature functionality that allows users to easily find doctors and services. Other features include cheer cards, pre-registration, calendar and events, RSS feeds, a multi-media gallery, a wellness section and quality reports. SRHS and Geonetric are currently working on adding additional key features, such as "Ask the Expert" and complementary social media aspects to the site. Work on an intranet is scheduled for later this year.
