Geonetric and University of Colorado Hospital Launch Intranet Designed to Keep Employees Informed and Connected
Cedar Rapids, Iowa (April 28, 2009) - In need of a central place where employees could more easily access professional and personal resources, the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) in Aurora, Colo., and its online solutions provider, Geonetric, built a new employee intranet for the hospital's 4,000 employees.
The Hub, as the intranet has been branded, replaces an intranet that offered limited resources and search functionality.
"Employees have always found a lot of value in UCH's intranet, but there was an opportunity to offer more services, enhance accessibility, and improve search capabilities," says Bill Sonn, director, marketing and public relations at UCH. "Geonetric provided terrific support throughout the project. Their expertise in employee intranet development provided forethought into issues we probably never would have anticipated."
The intranet was built on Geonetric's award winning software, VitalSite®, and showcases Geonetric's exclusive Web-based policy and procedure manager designed specifically for the healthcare industry.
The site also features other functionality including a services directory, which the organization uses to organize departments; a news column that offers real-time updates of hospital news; forms and documents; a video player and a calendar.
