Geonetric's Engelmann Named Technology Association of Iowa's 'CEO of the Year'
Cedar Rapids, Iowa (March 5, 2009) - The elite of Iowa's technology industry gathered Tuesday night to recognize the best of the best at the Technology Association of Iowa's (TAI) annual Prometheus Awards Ceremony. Eric Engelmann, Geonetric's president and CEO was recognized as the 2009 CEO of the Year (small/medium companies).
"A leader is only as good as his or her team," says Engelmann. "The team at Geonetric really is an amazing group, and this award is the recognition of our cumulative efforts. I was honored to represent my company at this important event and share in the success of Iowa's impressive technology industry."
Engelmann was selected for this important recognition after both he and his online solution company earned a number of impressive achievements in 2008 including:
- Recognition from Modern Healthcare as the 10th best place to work in the healthcare industry;
- Being named one of the fastest growing companies in the country by Inc. 5000 for the second consecutive year; and
- Engelmann's selection as one of the Corridor Business Journal's Forty under 40 honorees for the significant contributions he's made to the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor.
"These are our industry's academy awards," says TAI president Leann Jacobson. "They were created to help promote excellence in a business sector that is critical to our state's economy, particularly in these challenging economic times. The transformative work we honored last night is helping to build and sustain vibrant communities throughout Iowa."
Businesses and individuals in 19 categories were presented with the awards at the Meadows Convention Center in Altoona, IA. The Prometheus Awards Ceremony is co-sponsored by LWBJ Financial.
