Geonetric Launches Improved Abington Memorial Hospital Website in Accelerated Timeframe
Cedar Rapids, IA (Jan. 15, 2009) - Abington Memorial Hospital (AMH), Abington, PA, signed with online solutions provider Geonetric in August of 2008, ready to design a new public website that provided a richer user experience and improved navigation.
Their new site, www.amh.org, was live by mid-December 2008 and is an important step in establishing the organization as a regional healthcare provider."In order to meet our department's goals, it was imperative that AMH had a website in place by the end of the year," says Mary Thomson, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at AMH. "Geonetric not only ensured we met our deadline, they didn't make us sacrifice functionality and usability to launch on time. Our new site offers the navigation, functionality and design we need to support our organization's long-term Web goals."
The site was built on Geonetric's award winning software, VitalSite. At launch, the AMH site features the new and improved doctors, service and locations directories, as well as calendar, cheer chards and online donations. Many of these features were not available on AMH's previous site, for example users could not submit donations or register for classes.
AMH was also excited to utilize VitalSite's unique SmartPanels which will optimize the user experience by dynamically integrating information across AMH's new site.
"Geonetric kept our launch a top priority. They met our timeframe and built a strong online foundation for us to grow," says Alison Ferren, Vice President of Information Technology/Chief Information Officer. "This was a joint project between AMH's IT and marketing departments, and Geonetric worked well with both disciplines and worked hard to accommodate our needs."
With the public site launched, AMH and Geonetric are set to begin work on an employee Intranet that will enhance organizational communication and improve access to information.
