Geonetric Launches Improved Employee Portal for St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network
Cedar Rapids, Iowa (Nov. 18, 2008) - St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network, headquartered in Bethlehem, Pa., is taking their employee communications to the next level by launching a new intranet.
The intranet, developed by Geonetric, Inc., a leading provider of eHealth solutions for hospitals and health systems, is built on the same platform as St. Luke's public website. The intranet features remote access so employees can log on and stay informed where, and when, it suits their busy schedules.
"Our Network's new intranet site - MyNet - reflects our organizational vision to make it easy for our employees to access the information they need," says Susan Schantz, Vice President, Corporate Communications at St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network. "MyNet features all the Web-based information and links our employees need to do their jobs. It also includes such additional benefits as the local weather forecast, special discounts provided to employees by area merchants, and local traffic updates. Through Geonetric's flexibility, we were able to personalize our intranet to meet the needs of our diverse Network which includes more than 150 locations across seven counties in Southeastern Pennsylvania."
Since many of employees don't have workstations, it was important for St. Luke's to provide a way everyone could access information on MyNet. Geonetric built security into the intranet to allow remote access and accommodate employees who work within network locations and from other locations such as their homes.
MyNet also showcases Geonetric's exclusive Web-based policy and procedure manager designed specifically for the healthcare industry, as well as a CEO message and a rotating photo of the day.
The site was built on Geonetric's award winning software, VitalSite. Using VitalSite allows non-technical users to create and maintain intranet information. As a result, content ownership can be handed out to many different authors and typically leads to richer, broader content.
